Students enrolling into a 4th year programme within the School are expected to complete a research project and a number of higher-level units. The exact composition and number of the units is governed by the degree the student is enrolled in:

Official dates concerning enrolments can be found at the Student Administration web-site. All withdrawals after the relevant date will be classified as withdrawn deemed failed. Please consult with the 4th Year Coordinator before withdrawing from a unit or withdrawing from the 4th year course.
The number of type of 4th year units offered within the School varies from year to year. Subject to interest, ten units will be presented in 2012. End-on honours students may only undertake units listed in italics. The units available are:
Semester 1:
CITS4211 Artificial Intelligence (Lyndon While)
CITS4220 Software Quality and Measurement (Terry Woodings)
CITS4240 Computer Vision (Du Huynh)
CITS7200 Scientific Communication (Mohammed Bennamoun). This unit is compulsory for all end-on honours students.

Semester 2:
CITS4222 Software Engineering Industry Project Leadership (Terry Woodings)
CITS4230 Internet Technologies (Wei Liu)
CITS7212 Computational Intelligence (Lyndon While)
CITS7219 Mobile and Wireless Computing (Rachel Cardell-Oliver)
Students enrolled in either the Bachelor of Computer Science or the Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) must also complete a Professional Practicum.
