Project: Multi User File Management System Based on Apples Time Machine Using FSEvents
Supervisor(s): Chris McDonald
Project status: complete semester 2, 2008

The aim of this project is to develop a backup and recovery system similar to Apple's Time Machine, that is suitable for the needs of multiple users, in order to improve the management of the UWA CSSE file system. In I multi-user environments such as UWA, there is often redundant storage of files, as multiple users have a copy of the same file. Therefore there is the need for a system that reduces/removes the redundancy of storing multiple copies of the same file, whilst providing all of the capabilities and reliability of a backup system.
