Project: TCP in Multirate Ad-hoc Mobile Wireless Networks
Supervisor(s): Amitava Datta
Project status: complete semester 1, 2007

The TCP provides a reliable packet delivery for wired networks with very small error rate using the congestion control mechanism. However, in wireless networks it is not possible only to rely on the TCP congestion control for reliable packet delivery. This research has been determined to measure the TCP throughput in a ad-hoc mobile wireless network using RBAR and OAR rate adaptation algorithms. An extensive simulation experiments are performed and possible suggestions are made to improve the existing protocols based on the results.
