Project: Investigating the Software Engineering Process for Electronic Voting Systems
Supervisor(s): Mark Reynolds
Project status: complete semester 2, 2005

Current paper-based voting systems are often hampered by long distances between electors and the need for results to be produced quickly and accurately. Electronic voting (or e-voting) has the potential to provide a convenient service unaffected by physical distance between locations in addition to cost savings.
In this project, we aim to develop a software engineering process to follow in order to develop an effective e-voting system. We hope to accomplish this by first identifying the most critical problem areas that must be handled by an e-voting system and analysing a range of software engineering methodologies which may be used in the development of the system and how their use can improve the developed product.
