Project: Visualising the Berkeley Sockets Network API
Supervisor(s): Chris McDonald
Project status: complete semester 2, 2006

This project will develop a software tool to visualize the execution of the Berkeley sockets network API. The tool will take two or more C or Java programs and execute, or oversee the execution of, these programs while visualizing their communication via the API. The simulations will demonstrate the execution with animations, shapes and colour. The tool will record real-time visual changes into a trace file so that the activities can be replayed with variable speed, or step-by-step, backwards and possibly line-by-line.
