Tutorial Instructions
- There are no labs in week 1
- During week one you need to use OCLR to register for lab times.
You need to register for three hours: T1, T2 and T3.
You will need to choose classes appropriate for your BE programme.
See below.
- You will attend the three labs each week from week 2 until week
13.
- In weeks 2 and 3 there will be unassessed lab sheets on Matlab
and
Excel provided by the School of Computer Science and Software
Engineering.
- In weeks 4-13 you will work on assignments provided by the other
three
Engineering Schools.
NOTE for OLCR users:
When you are login to OLCR for the GENG2140 unit, you
should
see a number of tables for you to enter your preferences. You don't
need
to enter any preferences for the Lecture_L1, Lecture_L2,
and Lecture_L3 tables.
- If you are a Civil Engineering student,
then you should follow the instructions on OLCR and select your
preferences
for the Tutorial_T1_CIVL, Tutorial_T2_CIVL, and Tutorial_T3_CIVL
tables only.
- If you are an Electrical & Electronic Engineering student,
then you should follow the instructions on OLCR and select your
preferences
for the Tutorial_T1_ELEC, Tutorial_T2_ELEC, and Tutorial_T3_ELEC
tables only.
- If you are a Mechanical & Engineering student,
then you should follow the instructions on OLCR and select your
preferences
for the Tutorial_T1_MECH, Tutorial_T2_MECH, and Tutorial_T3_MECH
tables only.
Due to the large class size, each tutorial session is repeated a
number of time.
Each student needs to sign up
3 separate tutorial sessions per
week.

CSEntry, CSForum, CSSubmit etc
- You will need to firstly activate your CSSE account.
For more information about how to activate your CSSE account,

- Visit the URL https://secure.csse.uwa.edu.au/run/csentry
and click the "login" link near the top right-hand corner.
You will be required to enter an account name and password to gain
access:
- if you DO have a CSSE computer account, enter your account name
and its
Linux password.
- if you DO NOT yet have a CSSE computer account, then you should
activate your CSSE account (see above).
- Using your CSSE account, you will be able to
visit a number of links, including cssubmit, csmarks,
and the
GENG2140 discussion forum (also known as the help2140
page) at:
https://secure.csse.uwa.edu.au/run/help2140
(While it is not necessary to be logged in to read the forum,
you will need to login to post new articles and replies.)
At any time you may logout from the web-based programs using the
"logout" link near the top right-hand corner.
You can use help2140 to discuss the course material with your
classmates.

You will be required to use
cssubmit to submit electronic versions of your assigments
later in the unit. In
order
to submit your assignments to cssubmit, you will
need to firstly logon to csentry (or cssubmit) by clicking the "login"
link.
- You will be able to view your assignment marks (for the
programming
components only) on the csmarks page. Again, you will need
to logon to csentry (or csmarks).
